In these modern times, corporations understand the value of encouraging their employees to be involved in their communities. But long before it was the standard business practice, Electrozad Founder Joseph Ozad led by example with his numerous philanthropic gestures that set the tone for his flourishing company.

The philosophy of corporate citizenship continues today with each of our Electrozad locations generously involved in their respective communities. Community support occurs through event sponsorships, minor sports team sponsorships and through the donation of time to numerous worthy causes on behalf of our community-minded employees. Collectively, Electrozad Supply has donated thousands of dollars and volunteer hours since the business began in 1955.

While Mr. Ozad always believed in supporting the community that supported him, it was 1969 when he established the Electrozad Foundation, just three years after learning he had multiple sclerosis. Through the Foundation, Mr. Ozad showed his philanthropy by selecting charitable organizations that touched him. Since its formation, the Foundation has donated millions of dollars towards multiple sclerosis research, to local hospitals and cultural groups, to fund scholarships to university students in the electrical engineering program and to eventually establish the Ozad Institute in Windsor in 1990.

Today, the Ozad Institute acts as a community resource dedicated to research, education and training in developmental disabilities. Based on the work of highly skilled health professionals and researchers, new research, education and training initiatives are being done on behalf of children with life-long developmental disabilities.
